BDO Cash Card Issuance Delays

I went to the BDO branch in Hypermart, Pasig in the hopes of getting a BDO cash card. I was informed that for a lower limit (P10,000) I could get the card right away, but for bigger limits with a personalised card, the processing would take 5 to 7 days.

I proceeded to pay the P120 processing fee and waited 5 days before dropping in back at BDO to check the availability of my card. I was told that it was supposed to be 5 working days so I had to wait a couple more days to claim it which was fair enough. I asked for them to send me an SMS once the card is ready so I can be 100% sure that I won't be wasting time and effort, but I was told that this is not a service that they offered.

I went back after 8 working days since I applied and after 15 minutes, I was told that the card had been there all along but that they had mistakenly printed my last name as my MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME. Apparently, the teller who encoded my data got it wrong.

I was told that I needed to come back after another 5-7 working days and that if I wanted the card right away, then I should just accept the card with the wrong name. I can't believe this was even raised as an option, and I asked her a rhetorical question: "if you owed me money and I asked you to deposit to an account name that is not under my legal name, would you feel right doing it?" This opens the situation up to many potentially fraudulent scenarios.

I agreed to wait for another 5 working days but only if they delivered the card directly to my home address because I refuse to make another trip due to their mistake. My card arrived via LBC 23 days after I had applied and paid for it.

My point is, this is supposed to be a cut-and-dry transaction. If BDO managed to bungle this very simple transaction, how can I be able to trust them with the more complex areas of my finances?
